About Team & Role The Sr. DevOps engineer will be a part of a cross-functional team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure data platform and machine learning infrastructure in an enterprise environment. The Sr. DevOps engineers will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of DevOps best practices, implementing, and supporting DevOps tools. They will be responsible for improving the efficiency, reliability, and security of the systems while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to modern data stack tools (Delta Lake, Airflow, dbt).
Experience with cost and performance optimization across large Azure environments.
Experience implementing multi-tenant data platforms with isolation and RBAC.
Familiarity with FinOps and governance policy enforcement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in platform or data infrastructure engineering roles.
Proven experience building or operating OSS-based data platforms (Spark, Trino, Jupyter) on Kubernetes.
Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (AKS, Blob Storage, Key Vault, AAD, Managed Identity, Azure Monitor).
Strong understanding of Apache Spark internals and performance optimization.
Familiarity with Databricks (including Unity Catalog, clusters, jobs, and governance best practices).
Practical experience in observability and telemetry stacks (Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki, or Prometheus).
Sound knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions).
In-depth understanding of security frameworks, data governance, and compliance for enterprise environments.
Excellent problem-solving, automation, and debugging skills with a strong DevOps mindset.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate a Kubernetes-native data platform running OSS components (e.g. Apache Spark, Trino, JupyterHub).
Implement data governance and security controls (access policies, encryption, audit, RBAC) seamlessly into the platform.
Optimize Apache Spark performance at scale (tuning, caching, shuffle optimization, cluster sizing).
Integrate monitoring and observability through Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry to ensure system health and reliability.
Collaborate with data engineering and infrastructure teams to enable seamless integration and CI/CD automation for data workloads.
Support adoption and interoperability with Databricks, including workspace governance, job orchestration, and Unity Catalog integration.
Continuously improve platform reliability, cost efficiency, and developer experience.
Participate in architecture design reviews, incident response, and capacity planning.

We are building an open, cloud-native data platform that leverages best-in-class open-source technologies to serve enterprise-grade analytics, governance, and observability. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will architect, deploy, and optimize our OSS-based data platform with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and security on Azure.
You will work with distributed systems such as Apache Spark on Kubernetes, Trino, and Jupyter Notebooks, while embedding enterprise-level security, governance, and observability into the platform’s core.
