Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Azure certifications, Palo Alto certifications) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering and security, with a focus on Azure and enterprise-grade firewalls.
Proven experience in designing and implementing secure network architectures for cloud-based applications.
Strong knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and security best practices.
Experience with Azure network services and third-party network and firewall tools.
Experience in designing and deploying Azure Databricks data platforms and AKS clusters for hosting GenAI and LLM services.
Skills:
Proficiency in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of security principles and practices, including threat detection and incident response.
Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Responsibilities
1. Network Architecture Design & Implementation
Design and implement robust network architectures for Azure-based applications, including Azure Databricks and AKS.
Develop and maintain network diagrams, configuration documentation, and change management processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with other IT systems and applications.
2. Network & Firewall Provisioning
Provision and configure network components such as routers, switches, load balancers, and VPNs.
Deploy and manage Azure network resources, including Virtual Networks (VNETs), Subnets, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and Virtual Network Gateways.
Configure and manage Palo Alto NextGen Firewalls, including policy creation, rule management, and threat prevention settings.
Design and implement network security measures to protect Azure Databricks and AKS clusters.
3. Day-to-Day Operations
Perform routine network and firewall operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Optimize network and firewall configurations to ensure performance and security.
Respond promptly to network incidents and outages, ensuring resolution and proper documentation.
4. Network Security Management
Oversee network security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Monitor network traffic and logs for suspicious activities using tools like Azure Security Center and Palo Alto threat intelligence.
Implement and manage Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and firewalls.
5. Incident Response & Mitigation
Lead incident response efforts, collaborating with other teams to identify and mitigate security threats swiftly.
Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and apply preventive measures.
Keep up-to-date with emerging threats and vulnerabilities, proactively applying patches and updates.
About Team & Role
Design, implement, and manage secure and high-performance Azure network architectures, including Azure Databricks and AKS. Responsibilities include provisioning network components and firewalls (especially Palo Alto), overseeing daily operations, ensuring network security, and leading incident response efforts. Collaborate cross-functionally, maintain documentation, and enforce compliance with industry standards.
