Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI DSS.
Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk).
Familiarity with progressive delivery tools (Spinnaker, ArgoCD, LaunchDarkly).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with a focus on governance and release quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related fields.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Release Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Change Management roles with focus on automation.
Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, Java, JavaScript).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes/container orchestration.
Solid knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, Ansible).
Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM change management practices, especially in regulated industries (banking, finance, healthcare).
Experience integrating compliance into pipelines (security scans, privacy checks, audit evidence collection).
Strong understanding of observability and reliability engineering (SLOs, monitoring, canary analysis).
Proficiency with Git for version control.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for designing and developing a compliance-driven release automation framework, implementing policy-as-code, and ensuring audit-ready traceability for all deployments.
Own the AGR role in the project by ensuring fast, safe, and compliant software releases across cloud-native platforms.
Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, Development and QA teams to embed governance and risk management into release pipelines.
Design and maintain automated release workflows, including risk-based classification (low/medium/high risk) and progressive delivery (canary, blue/green, feature toggles).
Integrate compliance and change management workflows with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) to auto-generate tickets, approvals, and logs.
Ensure all releases produce immutable audit trails and compliance evidence aligned with regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO27001, SOC2, PCI DSS).
Monitor and report release performance metrics (DORA metrics, change failure rate, MTTR, deployment frequency).
Provide release transparency to stakeholders through dashboards and reporting.
Participate in design and release reviews, offering input on risks, compliance, and potential reliability issues.
Guide and facilitate AGR processes within Agile/Scrum teams, ensuring governance aligns with sprint goals without slowing delivery.
Continuously improve AGR practices by evaluating new tools, frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
About Team & Role
As a Automated Governance & Release (AGR) Engineer, you will play a key role in enabling fast, safe, and compliant software releases across DATAx platforms. You will work closely with DevOps engineers, SREs, QA engineers, and product owners to embed governance and compliance into automated CI/CD pipelines.
This role requires a strong background in DevOps, release automation, and change management in regulated environments. As a representative of AGR in the engineering team, you will ensure that every release is audit-ready, risk-aware, and fully automated, balancing time-to-market speed with regulatory compliance.
