SCB DataX hosted its 2nd DataXperts event titled “Generative AI: Harnessing Its Potential Responsibly” in collaboration with experts from VISTEC, BCG, Accenture, and Deloitte and others.

The day started with a warm welcome from our CEO, Dr.Shuki Idan, and SCBX CTO Mr.Dennis Thorsten Trawnitschek  Following this, our guest speakers shared recent advancements in Generative AI and its impact on business models. We scrutinized the current AI hype cycle by exploring the current state of NLP in Thai language and the path ahead to truly unlock the potential of this technology. We then rounded off the session with a perspective on how AI has been helping transform how we learn and progress as a society.

Prof. Dr. Sarana Nutanong, Dean of    School of Information Science and Technology, Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), Miss Bhavna Rawlley, Sustainability Data & AI leader l Responsible AI,  Accenture, and Mr. Gerry Chng, Executive Director in Deloitte’s Cyber Risk Advisory practice Deloitte. The speakers shared knowledge, forged an understanding, and explored opportunities in the future world through harnessing limitless potentials of Generative AI. The discussion also involved applying Generative AI to the business, education, and social sectors responsibly and controlling its use to minimize risks and adverse impacts from improper use of technology. The aim was to build a foundation and pave the way to the future, propelled by the technology whose impact is deepening creatively and negatively across various industries which is an issue that draws focus and attention globally as Generative AI continues to grow its potential and intelligence. The event took place on 24 July 2023 at SCB Academy, SCB Park Plaza.
